A basic element for an emergency kit that will allow the population to stay informed in the event of a natural disaster, where communications normally collapse or telephone networks are down.
Designed by ONEMI (Chile's National Emergency Office), this radio is a brilliant idea to ensure the safety of civilians during a natural disaster.
Chile is well known for its seismic instability and probably the worst result of an earthquake is chaos. The solution? A cheap, portable and efficient radio that can allow the Government to communicate with the population, giving appropriate advice during a state of emergency.
Its cardboard construction allows it to be folded, so it can be easily stored (as well as distributed). The solar panel on the rear ensures that you don't have to worry about electrical power.
